One Trunk Festival

One Trunk commissioned three: musicians, visual artists, writers and performance companies to take part in the first annual One Trunk Festival.

Visual artists, musicians and writers spent a week at a specific Winnipeg location capturing the essence of that place in their art form. Their creations were then passed on to performance companies to create a piece inspired by the work.

It was a mashup of Winnipeg talent and a celebration of the dynamic arts communities in our city.

Performances debuted at the West End Cultural Centre on September 8th, 2013. There was also discussion after performances about the development of interdisciplinary collaboration in Winnipeg and plans for an annual hybrid performance festival.
